Let us crank the summer II - the comprehensible version

Weird, this elderly CMS of mine just spat out last month's newsletter. I can't explain that. shall we try again? To all who jsut got an issue of Shout!: Sorry to spam your inboxes with a nonsensical missive from last month, eh? This one will make sense. I swear.

Here we go, my droogs. A raucous cavalcade of quietude to grace your earballs in the coming weeks of summer, proudly co-presented in a large part by our beloved kindred over at Birds Love Fighting... The Blender in the Park Thing is still evolving, but heads-up, it seems to be the same night as the art school grad show, so there may be an interesting mob of folks turning up to that one once they get swept out of the gallery with a broom, and revived by smelling salts.

But first up, watch out for the show this very evening, bringing you a maximal line up of attempts at minimalism. Definitely the leat socially acceptable way to usher in a new government, and i recommend that you go there and have a bash.

A piquant melange of shoegraze minimalism (MoonMilk), a capella trance (Always), electro-style powerpop (Loom) and lo-fi guitar-voice-FX delayscapes (Mr Cotton). Come and be our mutual friends, and bring the blessing of incongruity upon the election eve, that it may describe the next term of government also.

Dick Sun: Breath of the Dragon 2007.
granular microsounds choreographed in combat with twisting generative visuals to create a kung fu field of psycho-sensory immersion, all inspired by Jackie Chan's celebrated Cantopop album Dragon Heart of 1996, his breakthrough movie Drunken Master of 1978, and the fact that he attended Dickson College in 1976.
